
Ilana Redstone’s guest column “Trapped by our certainty,” [Gazette, Sept. 9] makes an important point. If one is certain of the truth of one’s position to the point of demonizing any alternative, then one is trapped in your position.
This is a large country and a larger world, and multiple viewpoints need to co-exist. This not to say that haters and bigots deserve to be given the same consideration as those with saner viewpoints. But thinking adults can disagree without being demonized.
