The MIAA state tournament brackets for basketball and hockey were released on Saturday morning and nearly 20 area teams earned the right to compete for a state title.
Nine Hampshire County boys basketball programs made the cut, led by the South Hadley Tigers, which earned the best seed (No. 17) of the local qualifiers.
On the girls side, eight squads secured state tournament berths, with multiple teams earning top-10 seeds. Frontier snagged the No. 1 overall seed in the Division 4 bracket, while South Hadley (No. 3) and Hampshire (No. 8) also received favorable seeds in D4.
Granby (No. 8) earned home-court advantage through at least the Round of 16 in the Division 5 bracket.
Fresh off its first Western Mass. championship in seven years, the Easthampton hockey team earned a bid into the Division 3 bracket.
Dates and times are still being finalized as of Saturday afternoon, but here is a first look at seeds and opponents for all 18 area state tournament teams:
Boys basketball
Division 2
Amherst (No. 18) will travel to Milton (No. 15) on Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., in the Round of 32.
Division 3
Belchertown (No. 43) will travel to Stoneham (No. 22) in the preliminary round.
Division 4
South Hadley (No. 17) will travel to Madison Park Tech (No. 16) in the Round of 32.
Frontier (No. 18) will travel to Hamilton-Wenham (No. 15) in the Round of 32.
Easthampton (No. 35) will travel to Carver (No. 30) in the preliminary round.
Hampshire (No. 39) will travel to Amesbury (No. 26) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m., in the preliminary round.
Smith Voc (No. 43) will travel to Winthrop (No. 22) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m., in the preliminary round.
Division 5
Hopkins (No. 36) will travel to Duggan Academy (No. 29) in the preliminary round.
PVCICS (No. 43) will travel to Argosy Collegiate Charter (No. 22) in the preliminary round.

Division 2
Northampton (No. 13) will host Dracut (No. 20) in the Round of 32.
Division 3
Belchertown (No. 29) will host Saint Paul Diocesan (No. 36) in the preliminary round.
Division 4
Frontier (No. 1) will host the winner of Falmouth Academy (No. 32)/Sturgis Charter (No. 33) in the Round of 32.
South Hadley (No. 3) will host the winner of Mount Greylock (No. 30)/Oxford (No. 35) in the Round of 32.
Hampshire (No. 8) will host the winner of Wareham (No. 25)/Brooke Charter (No. 40) in the Round of 32.
Easthampton (No. 23) will host Bromfield (No. 42) in the preliminary round.

Easthampton (No. 33) will travel to Dedham (No. 32) on Monday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m., in the preliminary round.
