AMHERST — An annual fireworks display for Independence Day takes place Tuesday at McGuirk Alumni Stadium on the University of Massachusetts campus.

Festivities kick off at 6 p.m., with fireworks set off when it is dark. The event is free, though donations are accepted.

There will be lawn and pickup games for all ages, with spectators encouraged to bring a blanket and folding chairs for the live entertainment, which will include Masala Jazz, the Amherst Community Band and DJ Benny Black.

Food trucks, serving a variety of menu items as well as beverages and novelties, will include Baby Berk, Batch Ice Cream, Caravan Kitchen, Crazy Arepas, Crooked Stick Pops, Holyoke Hummus, Rock-n-Roll Food Truck and Thai Chili. Also expected to be set up will be Hillio’s Novelties, Magic Tree Henna and Infinity Lox Permanent Jewelry.

New this year will be a White Lion Brewing beer garden for those 21 and over.

Free parking available on site in UMass lots 11, 22, 21 and 33, with accessible parking in lot 10.
