AMHERST — UMass Police are investigating an incident in which a man was allegedly assaulted with a bottle and had his belongings stolen while he was at the Southwest Area of the University of Massachusetts campus early Sunday morning.
Police wrote in an alert issued Monday afternoon that they responded to men fighting at around 2:30 a.m. near Hampden Commons and Southwest Circle when they found the man who had been mugged.
Those involved in the incident fled and were not identified, with the suspects possibly heading toward Cance Dorm and then to Lot 22 and 33.
