SHUTESBURY — A race for a three-year seat on the Select Board will be the only contest on the ballot for the town election on May 21.

Melissa Makepeace-O’Neil, a two-term incumbent, is facing a challenge from Don Wakoluk, who previously ran as a write-in candidate in 2021.

Incumbents will be on the ballot in uncontested elections for many of the positions, including Catherine Hilton for a three-year term on the Board of Health, Jeff Lacy and Robert Raymond for three-year terms on the Planning Board, Michele Regan-Ladd and Brad Foster for three-year terms as library trustees, Paul Lyons for a three-year post as moderator and James Hemingway for a three-year term on the Municipal Light Plant.

Newcomers in uncontested elections include Julie Martel and Jennifer Taylor for three-year positions on School Committee, Christine Robinson for a three-year term as constable and Jeff Weston for a three-year term on the Planning Board.
