Easter, Passover and continued Ramadan greetings to all Christian, Jewish and Muslim friends and neighbors. New Year greetings to the people of Laos. Next week is also the first day of Ridvan for those of the Baha’i faith.
And for everyone, Earth Day is April 22. Do something good for our planet.

Garden report: The forsythia has bloomed. Peony shoots are up. I cleaned a small amount of debris from the beds but didn’t want to remove too much cover since it can still be very cold some nights. The ground is very wet in my backyard.
The bunny is back.

Many, many thanks to all those on stage, back stage and front of the house for an absolutely magnificent performance of “Hair” at Amherst Regional High School last week. The energy level was incredible, as were the outfits. I don’t know where the console television set was found but it was perfect and a huge piece of furniture.
What also was wonderful was seeing so many friends and neighbors in person.
The program included a message from the Friends of the Performing Arts.
Fundraising provided lighting, sheet music, and new instruments at the school. However, the last fundraiser was February 2020. They need help. Visit arpsfpa.org/ and click the get involved link. Money is also welcome. Thanks.

The Valley Light Opera presented Mozart’s “Requiem” as a tribute to members at the Wesley United Methodist Church who died in the past two years. It was a full house and then some, with some people sitting in the lobby.
It was a splendid program. Thanks to all who made it happen. Again it was wonderful to see people in person. One friend told me this was the first time she had been to a performance in two years.
The other amazing news was that refreshments were served, a first in two years for me. With all the Zoom meetings, you have to make your own coffee and tea.

Note: The federal income tax returns for Massachusetts residents don’t have to be filed until April 19 because of holidays in Washington and here for Patriot’s Day. Maine gets the same extra time. The check will be in the mail on the 19th.
