HADLEY — At least four residents, including two incumbents, will be competing for two Select Board seats in the May 17 town election.
With less than two weeks remaining for residents to pick up nomination forms and have them returned with signatures from 28 registered voters by March 29, papers are already filed to run for the three-year terms by incumbents David J. Fill II and John C. Waskiewicz II, former Select Board member Molly Keegan and current town moderator Randall E. Izer. A fifth candidate, former Select Board member Richard V. Wilga, has picked up papers but not returned them.
No one has yet filed nomination papers for the moderator position or for the lone School Committee position on the ballot, currently held by Heather Klesch. She has announced she will not run for a fourth term.
Those who have picked up and returned papers include incumbent Richard S. Grader for Board of Assessors for three years, newcomer Lynne M. Latham for library trustees for three years, incumbent William R. Banack as constable for three years, incumbent Jessica Spanknebel as town clerk for three years, and newcomer John H. Allen for a one-year position on the Hadley Housing Authority.
Others who have taken out papers include newcomer Susan E. Mooring for library trustees for three years, incumbent Gregory Mish for Board of Health for three years, incumbent William Dwyer Jr. for Planning Board for five years, newcomer Maureen K. Devine for Elector under the Oliver Smith Will for one year, incumbent Diane Kieras-Ciolkos for Park Commission for three years and newcomer Harry Chadwick for a three-year position on the Hadley Housing Authority.
