Reminder — this is the weekend to change clocks. On Sunday, Nov. 7, you will wake up at a different hour. As usual I never say which way to change your watches and clocks since I generally get it wrong. However, your electronic devices do it automatically.

Garden report: I have to share news of a neighbor’s garden that has tomatoes still on the green vine, green beans, peppers and lemon grass — all still producing.
I, on the other hand, have some dandelions on the lawn. It has been an unusual fall.
The nasturtiums, zinnias, geranium and strawflowers
I think I had about 90 trick-or-treaters. I counted the candy before anyone came but was running out and opened a bundle of gum that was all used.
I have to note two very special visitors. One 2-year old Dorothy wore a blue and white gingham pinafore and had ruby slippers. The witch (her mother) had the compete green face. The wizard/professor (her grandfather) had the requisite outfit compete with hat. The tin man (her father) had a silver face, jacket and silver funnel on his head. They were spectacular and would be prize winners in any contest.
A larger group represented some lyrics from “These are a few of my favorite things” from “The Sound of Music.” One was a kitten, one had mittens, one had whiskers. It was very clever. Next year I suggested they do “Do, Re, Mi.”
There were many incredibly clever handmade costumes.
