BELCHERTOWN — A satellite office for the Hampshire Probate Registry is open on the first and third Thursdays each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Eastern Hampshire District Court at 205 State St.
The office is located in the space occupied by the Franklin-Hampshire Juvenile Court, which is maintaining its current court schedule.
Hampshire Probate Register Michael J. Carey said the idea is to have probate services available to people living in the eastern portions of Hampshire County, in particular Belchertown, Granby, Pelham and Ware. For those residents, a commute to the Northampton site at 15 Atwood Drive can take a large portion of the day.
Services available include general probate and family court information, court forms and documents, processing of probate estate filings and other non-emergency court services.
