Garden report: worst tomato crop so discouraging. I have had to pull up some stalks that have already died. The roots rotted from too much rain.

Meanwhile, the morning glories are fabulous, with several blossoms blooming every day and the vines keep on climbing on the trellis. The nasturtiums are a bright orange and can’t be missed

Mary Beth Ogulewicz, who resigned as Senior Services director last week, provided a mini-Olympic ceremony before she left for her staff to recognize all their efforts especially during the pandemic.

Senior Center staffers Helen MacMellon, Jen Reynolds, Donna Hancock, Karen Ranen, Ralph Hathaway and Bruce Cleveland all received personalized medals on maroon ribbons and certificates. She even played the Olympic theme on her phone.

Lots of photos and high fives marked the event.

Barbara Schuman of Amherst sent a card depicting scenes of Frome, England.

She is visiting family had pasties, watercress soup and “wandered among charming streets, which you can see in the Poldark film.”

She said there are beautiful Constable skies, flowers everywhere and roses as big as cabbages.
