Ramadan greetings to all our Muslim friends and neighbors.

Alex Lopez of Amherst sent me an mail that said, “I wanted to pass on a hot tip of some out of this world activity that happened right here in Amherst. Ms. Coulthard’s kindergarten class at Crocker Farm just completed astronaut training complete with building their own jet packs, exploring moon rocks, creating personalized rockets, and even learning how to snack like an astronaut. Who knew we had an astronaut training school right here in town?!”
He included a photo of a student with a colorfully decorated jet pack. Thanks for the good news.

Paul Peelle of Amherst sent a postcard with a drawing of Leonard Bernstein with the quote, “This will be our reply to violence — to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than even before.”
Paul and Diana were in Minnesota visiting granddaughters and their parents, Davin and Jennie. They went via Amtrak.
They were in Minneapolis last fall but forgot to send a card. He notes that he could have won. The incentive was the cookies. He admits he is less inclined to win the summer postcard contest, where winners get tomatoes, since he has a vegetable garden. However, if he does win this summer I will make cookies.
Ann Kieser of Amherst sent me an old postcard of Macchu Picchu that she kept from her travels there. “It was the most amazing site I’ve ever encountered in my travels,” she wrote.

My Orchard Valley neighbor Adrienne Terrizzi sent me an email reminding me about the Zoom meeting on redistricting scheduled for Thursday, April 29, at 7 p.m. sponsored by the Amherst League of Women Voters. Former state Sen. Stan Rosenberg will be one of the participants. He led the state redistricting effort in 2010.
Visit the League website: at lwvamherst.org. Full disclosure, I am a member of the League.

The dandelions are out. Need I say more? P.S. the bugs are out, too.
