AMHERST — A Springfield man who allegedly broke into two downtown homes Jan. 21 and bothered a person at a third residence has been arrested, according to police.
Juan LaPorte, who provided an address as the streets of Springfield, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering during the daytime to commit a felony and larceny from a building, as well as on a warrant, said Amherst Detective Joshua Harris.
The first break-in was reported at 4:11 p.m. on Northampton Road, with the second coming at 5:15 p.m. on Dana Street.
In addition to the unlawful entry to the homes, the man was reported at a Dana Place home where, according to call logs supplied by police, he allegedly asked a resident “troubling questions” before fleeing.
