PELHAM — Two Habitat for Humanity homes will break ground at 8 Amherst Road this spring.

Each home will have three bedrooms and 1½ baths. Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Megan McDonough said the plan calls for one of the homes to be one-story and the other to be a two-story dwelling.

Pelham voters at Annual Town Meeting in May 2019 used $125,000 from the Community Preservation Act account to acquire the land for community housing. The property is close to the Amherst town line, as well as the Pelham Elementary School.

Those interested must be willing to volunteer at least 250 construction hours, be able to make monthly mortgage payments of $700 to $1,200 and fall within an eligible income range, from a minimum of $29,000 to a maximum of $35,888 for a one-person family and $46,125 for a three-person family.

Virtual information sessions via Zoom will take place Feb. 4 and Feb. 24.
