Get out your calendars, there are lots of dates to be noted.
Saturday, Oct. 31, is Halloween, a full moon and the Historical Society winter gear sale on the grounds of the Strong House Museum.
That night between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 is the time we change our clocks.
As you know, I never can figure out which way to turn the clock — check the papers. Yes, I have a non-digital wind-up clock. My iPad does the shift automatically.
Nov. 1 is also the Day of the Dead celebrated in Mexico, and All Saints Day.

The next major date is Monday, Nov. 2. Reminder: Time to pay real estate taxes. You can pay early. Remember, don’t put the check in the ballot box.

This is another major date and a big one: Tuesday, Nov. 3 is Election Day. I know many have already voted. However, ask people you know if they have cast their ballot. If not, remind them to do so. Thanks.

I received a postcard with news that the annual Wesley United Methodists church fair is virtual this year. Go to: WesleyUMCEvents.BigCartel.com/products to shop for hand-crafted items, jams, jellies, pickles, candies, peanut brittle, quilts, pillows and pies until Nov. 3. Curbside pickup will be Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Online orders require electronic payment.
You can order only apple and pumpkin pies by phone. Call 548-9315. Phone orders can be paid by check or cash.

Lois Barber sent me an email about her trip from Colorado to Massachusetts with her partner, Doug Wolfe. She was unable to return as usual in the spring because of the pandemic. However, with the purchase of a used RV, they drove back at the end of the summer, deliberately avoiding turnpikes.
As a result they visited Harold Warp’s Pioneer Village, a showplace of industrial creativity, which they had to themselves. He invented a product called “Flexi-Glass,” thin plastic sheeting with lots of possible uses (think plexiglass, Saran Wrap.) They drove to Indian Cave State, visited the Annual Brownville Fall Flea Market, stopped at Kickapoo State Recreation Area, ate at a Lebanese in Cleveland, and stopped at Geneva State Park on the southern edge of Lake Erie.
They also visited friends and her children along the way.
Great travelogue, thank you.
