SOUTH HADLEY — TV host and best-selling author Rachel Maddow will speak at Mount Holyoke College in November.

Maddow will be in South Hadley to discuss her new book: “Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth.” The book is about the corrupting influence of the oil and gas industry.

The event is at 4 p.m. on Nov. 17, and will be held at Chapin Auditorium. Odyssey Bookshop and Mount Holyoke’s Division of Student Life are sponsoring the talk.

Maddow is the host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC. She got her start as a host working in radio in the Pioneer Valley, first in Holyoke and then in Northampton. She currently splits her time between homes in New York and Massachusetts.
