Linda Chalfant, former head of the Amherst Leisure Services Department, sent a postcard of Pictor, New Zealand. It is a spectacular picture, a small town on Queen Charlotte Sound where the water is green and blue. The slopes of the mountains come down to the town.
She wrote that everything is “stunningly beautiful here.” She is on a cruise and the next stops include Tasmania and Sydney.

Daffodils were planted throughout the town to celebrate our 250th anniversary in 2009. It is such a joy to see them come up each year. This year is our 260th anniversary. A good reason to plant more daffodils.
