AMHERST — UMass wide receiver Andy Isabella was named an All-American by numerous publications over the past week.

The senior was named a first-team All-American by Pro Football Focus, Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America. He was a second-team choice by the Associated Press and Sports Illustrated.

The Sporting News will release its All-American team on Tuesday and the American Football Coaches Association will announce its team Wednesday.

Isabella led the nation with 1,698 yards receiving and caught 102 passes and 13 touchdowns. The Mayfield, Ohio, native was one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the best wide receiver in the country.

He ended his career as the Minutemen’s all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,526 over his four years.

PIPKINS EARNS HONOR: UMass junior guard Luwane Pipkins was named the Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Pipkins averaged 24 points per game in the Minutemen’s split of two games last week. He scored 13 of his game-high 26 points Friday in the second half, including the game-winning layup with 10.7 seconds left to cap UMass’ 79-78 comeback victory over Providence. He also had five second-half assists against the Friars.
