Why we support Paul Bobrowski for Town Council

We support Paul because he combines a strong progressive vision for Amherst with a long history of service and practical achievement in town government. He has always demonstrated himself to be a deliberative decision-maker rather than a rigid ideologue.

An experienced attorney, Paul has been counsel to towns in Western Mass on critical smart growth issues, showing an invaluable ability to balance needs of the local economy with a strong commitment to environmental protection as well preservation of the town’s character. He has also served on Amherst’s finance committee, providing him with a deep understanding of the town budget.

Having served on the Board of Commissioners of the Amherst Housing Authority, Paul has shown his dedication to expanding the availability of affordable housing to those who would not otherwise have the financial means to live in our town.

Importantly, having served on the Planning Board, Paul has a capable grasp of the town’s complex legal structure and bylaws.

Having lived in Amherst for decades, Paul has a lengthy record of local activism. He has always addressed the town’s issues in a thoughtful and mature manner. We believe he will bring the disparate groups of the town together in order to move Amherst forward.
