Happy Father’s Day.

Garden report: Good news there is a pea-size tomato on one of the plants.

The anemone and larkspur have bloomed.

Robins have built a nest in the lilac bush and the arbor vita. They find worms in my garden. I am willing to share, but not sure if the worms are.

The Taste of Amherst is Thursday through Sunday on the Town Common. Enjoy the food, music and company. Thanks to all the volunteers who make it happen.

If you looked carefully at the photo of last year’s Taste in the Bulletin’s calendar, I am in it, as is Therese Donohue. I can’t recognize the back of the person we are talking to.

It’s a good way to catch up with people, as we were doing last year.

Jim Barnhill, of Amherst, has written a book, “Dirt Road to Death,” that came out at the beginning of the month. A body is discovered submerged in a Jaguar by teen lovers at the end of the Dirt Road to Death. The protagonist is a lawyer. Jim graduated from Harvard Law School, was in private practice and taught law (I detect a theme here). He is on the board of the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter High School.

Congratulations and best wishes to Granby and Sunderland residents, who are celebrating their 250th and 300th anniversaries respectively. Both towns have lots of events planned. Check the listings.

Elisa Campbell of Amherst sent me a beautiful postcard of the upper and lower Yosemite Falls in California. She wrote that she took two Road Scholar trips seeing the redwoods and Yosemite. “Gorgeous places, I’d love to go back,” she wrote.
