Garden report: I planted broccoli, red and white onions, leeks, basil and radishes last weekend as well as some flowers — statice, marigold and sweet pea. Before I left on my trip, I planted 14 sugar snap seeds. Two have germinated. I will plant tomatoes, eggplant, cucumber and pepper this weekend.
I put wave petunias in pots.
I mowed part of the lawn. The back is still wet, so that has to wait.
It’s great to be outdoors in the sunshine.

More garden news. The Garden Club of Amherst will hold its annual plant sale Saturday, May 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Town Common, according to Kathy Teagno, who sent me an email reminder.
The sale features annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs and trees from local gardens. She wrote that cash is preferred for purchases. Also, it’s a good idea to bring your own box.
The sale supports the club activities such as the Amherst History Museum garden, the planters on the common and other gardening projects.
