10:26 p.m. – An assault was reported in the area of the Craig’s Place homeless shelter. Police were unable to find any victims.

9:56 p.m. – A vehicle parked on Hallock Street sustained minor damage when it was sideswiped by a hit-and-run vehicle, police said.

12:53 a.m. – Police warned a man sleeping in a downtown ATM that he couldn’t stay there all night.
1:23 a.m. – A man pacing back and forth in front of a Belchertown Road store was sent home for the night.
9:37 a.m. – A Mill Valley Estates resident called police to report being scared when someone rang her doorbell at 3 a.m., possibly a student at UMass with whom she’s had issues.

12:01 p.m. – A man causing a scene at the Amherst Survival Center was removed from the building and sent on his way.
4 p.m. – Police kept the peace between a husband and wife at Village Park over use of food stamps and giving away food to relatives.

12:31 a.m. – Police advised a man to leave a downtown ATM where he was loitering.
2:17 p.m. – A man sleeping in the lobby of Kendrick Place Apartments was sent on his way and warned he would be issued a trespass notice.

12:17 p.m. – Police spoke to a South Amherst woman concerned with possible threats to her safety from her landlord.
12:45 p.m. – Police assisted UMass Transit issue a trespass notice to a passenger when the bus was stopped on North Pleasant Street.
TRAFFIC
9:37 p.m. – Police took a report from a pedestrian nearly struck by a passing vehicle on North Pleasant Street. The driver was later identified.

8:10 p.m. – People loitering near a parked vehicle on West Street near Potwine Lane were gone when police got there.
10:23 p.m. – A man yelling at the ice machine outside a Belchertown Road store was identified and sent on his way.

1 a.m. – People fighting in a pickup truck parked on Main Street fled before police got there.
LARCENY
1:16 p.m. – A class ring was reported stolen from a South East Street home.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
8:57 a.m. – A lit cigarette caught on fire in a grate outside the Jones Library. The fire was quickly extinguished by a staff member. The person who tossed the cigarette was identified and issued a trespass notice to stay off the property.
10:16 a.m. – A man who stood in front of a PVTA bus on North Pleasant Street and made an obscene gesture toward it was warned about his behavior.
10:59 a.m. – Police warned a man about the town’s open container bylaw after he drank from a nip bottle at a North Pleasant Street bus stop.
2:06 p.m. – Two people going door to door on Meadow Street soliciting for a power company were warned to stop the activity until they get permits from the town. At 4:52 p.m., a Fall River man was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit.
9:08 p.m. – A Harkness Road resident called police after a person was knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell, but could not be seen from inside the home. At 9:32 p.m., police identified the person as a delivery driver who was lost.
11:20 p.m. – A person urinating on the edge of Fearing Street was issued a warning.

4:42 p.m. – Two men arguing over a cigarette purchase on Triangle Street were sent on their way.
LARCENY
8:09 a.m. – A North Amherst resident reported $372 was taken from a desk in his home, possibly by a tenant who lived with him more than a year ago.
NOISE COMPLAINTS
10:03 p.m. and 10:12 p.m. – Police issued verbal warnings to Cathedral Apartments and Gray Street residents playing loud music.
10:36 p.m. – Officers monitored a large crowd attending a party on Nutting Avenue.
11:46 p.m. – A verbal warning was issued by police to Echo Village Apartments residents holding a loud party.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
1:03 a.m. – A man holding two open cans of beer and dancing while in the middle of North Pleasant Street after the bars closed was arrested for violating the town’s open container bylaw.
10:27 a.m. – Police warned a man bothering customers entering a downtown store to stop his beahvior.
11:32 p.m. – A woman urinating in the middle of Lessey Street was warned about the dangers her actions caused and was sent on her way with her boyfriend.

12:28 a.m. – A man reported being assaulted while outside a downtown bar. The assailant was not located.
2:30 a.m. – People arguing at Townehouse Apartments were separated.
12:47 p.m. – Protesters in front of a downtown business trying to block customers from entering it were advised to leave the location.
11:41 p.m. – Friends who were pretending to fight on Lessey Street were warned about their actions.
LARCENY
2:57 a.m. – A sign advertising milk at Simple Gifts Farm on North Pleasant Street was reported stolen.
FIGHTS
4:20 p.m. – Combatants involved in a fight at Southpoint Apartments were gone when police got there.
NOISE COMPLAINTS
12:10 a.m., 2:01 a.m. and 2:14 a.m.– Police issued verbal warnings to Puffton Village, Brandywine Apartments and Townehouse Apartments residents playing loud music.
12:12 a.m. – South East Street residents were assisted after a party got out of control, with around 300 people present. One person was arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
1:10 a.m. – A loud party at an Olympia Place residence was cleared out by police.
TRAFFIC
12:32 a.m. – Police stopped an Uber vehicle at the roundabout of Triangle and East Pleasant streets that had too many passengers, which was evident as two men in the backseat were sitting on top of three women. The men were issued citations for not wearing seatbelts and the Uber driver was advised about the occupancy of his vehicle.
1:40 a.m. – A vehicle with an inspection sticker violation was stopped on North Pleasant Street. Someone threw an egg out from a window, and more eggs inside the vehicle were confiscated.

9:34 a.m. – Two homeless men staying warm in a downtown ATM were sent on their way.

3:28 p.m. – A woman called police to report that food she got at an Amherst restaurant was covered in blood from a cut on an employee’s hand. She was referred to the health department for assistance, though told police it should be investigated as a criminal matter.
DISTURBANCES
12:03 a.m. – A house party on Sunset Avenue created a disturbance when one man tried to hit a police cruiser. An underage person was arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
1:27 a.m. – Police resolved an issue between an Uber driver and a passenger on Cottage Street.
LARCENY
11:15 a.m. – A Colonial Village woman told police her laptop was stolen the previous night by a homeless man who stayed with her. The woman told police he took the computer after streaming The A-Team movie.
12:49 p.m. and 12:50 p.m.– Charter campaign signs were reported stolen from yards on Taylor Street and Woodlot Road.
