Dwayne L. Dudley, 56, who provided an address as the streets of Amherst, was arrested May 19 at 4:15 p.m. on Kellogg Avenue on a charge of assault and battery on a disabled person after he allegedly twice slapped the face a man in a wheelchair, police said. Dudley was identified after the victim told police his assailants goes by the nickname “Bones.”
Three 22-year-old men, from Medford, North Reading and Waltham, respectively, are being summoned to court on charges of violating the town’s noise and nuisance house bylaws after police responded May 18 at 1:58 a.m. to a South Whitney Street home where 75 people were in the yard drinking alcohol and yelling and some were tossing tables and chairs into a bonfire with flames rising nearly 30 feet high, police said.
A 41-year-old Belchertown man will be summoned to court on a charge of using a motor vehicle without authority after an Albany, New York woman told police May 17 at 11:13 a.m. he has been using her pickup truck since April 20, police said.
Joshua Jones, 20, of Conway, was arrested May 15 at 6:09 p.m. on Montague Road on three warrants, police said.

10:48 p.m. – A Riverside Park Apartments resident called police after someone banged on the door. Police found a bag of toiletries left outside the door, possibly by a friend of the tenant.

10:28 a.m. – A Village Park resident reported that a neighbor’s repeated locking and unlocking of a vehicle in the morning, and the associated beeping, is ruining his productivity for the day.
DISTURBANCES
2:52 a.m. – A woman who came uninvited to a graduation party at an Amity Street home, and created a scene by yelling at people and banging on objects, fled before police got there.
1:17 p.m. – Police responded to a home in Cushman for an intoxicated and belligerent man at a residence. The man’s probation requires him to remain sober.
1:44 p.m. – A man locked out from an Amherst home who was yelling and causing issues for family members calmed down when police got there.

10:24 a.m. – A NASCAR pillow, a sweatshirt and vehicle paperwork were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on North East Street that was entered three days earlier.
1:24 p.m. – A person reported that a wallet was stolen from the passenger seat of an unlocked vehicle near the intersection of Northampton and Blue Hills roads.

12:38 a.m. – Police responded to a South Prospect Street residence where someone was walking in the hallway and knocked on an interior door, startling the tenant. That person was not found.
9:12 a.m. – Four high-school age boys who came out of the Amherst College sanctuary woods on College Street near Shumway Street, and got into a vehicle in a parking lot, checked out OK.
7:26 p.m. – Juveniles who shot a Nerf gun at a passing vehicle on University Drive were warned about their actions after a driver complained that he was hit by the Nerf object and could have lost control of his vehicle. Their parents were notified and they were advised to write a letter of apology to the man.
8:19 p.m. – A person who rode a mini-bike over the track at the high school, causing minor damage, was not located.

8:06 p.m. – A front-end loader was damaged while left on Kendrick Park as part of an ongoing construction project.

2:42 a.m. – A drunken man who knocked on the door to a Cherry Lane home checked out OK. He was given a courtesy escort to his home on Hobart Lane.
12:07 p.m. – Police are investigating an incident in which an Amherst woman reported someone attempted to use her eBay account to order a $4,000 gun scope. She provided police information about where the device was to be sent, and the man at that location told officers he is an intermediary for these transactions.
3:58 p.m. – A couch was dumped on McClure Street. The Department of Public Works was notified to remove it.
Between 5:15 p.m. and 6:01 p.m. – Police spoke to 75 to 100 people at Puffer’s Pond, many of whom were consuming alcohol despite the town banning liquor from the beach. A 21-year-old Lowell man will be summoned to court of violating the town’s open container bylaw, while others agreed to dump their beverages.

10:28 a.m. – Management at a University Drive company reported a former employee stole 30 keys, two credit cards and a set of blueprints. Police are attempting to contact the man before charges are filed.

8:33 a.m. – Red spray-paint was put on the side of the Pi Kappa Alpha building on North Pleasant Street.

2:30 p.m. – Teenagers who urinated behind a College Street building were located and sent on their way. At 3:08 p.m., police warned a man who urinated and then yelled racist comments at people at a downtown location.

1:18 p.m. – A man was issued a trespass notice to stay out of the Jones Library. At 3:37 p.m., the man was on Amity Street holding a sign with disparaging words about Caitlyn Jenner and was advised to not engage passers-by. An hour later, people tried to grab the sign from the man, and police told them to ignore him.

8:59 p.m. – A South Amherst resident told police keys and cash were stolen from her home by a man who caused a scene at the residence.

3:05 a.m. – Main Street residents called police about a prowler behind the home. Police determined the noise was likely made by an animal that grabbed potato chip bags, candy wrappers and other items that still had food attached to them.

7:18 p.m. – Hikers lost in the area of Rattlesnake Knob at the Notch extited the woods on Bay Road near Chapel Road. They were given a courtesy escort back to their vehicle.
10:06 p.m. – A resident filed a complaint against her neighbor after a pizza delivery-person has repeatedly come to the home with food she hasn’t ordered. Police determined there was no malicious intent and that the delivery-person wasn’t able to identify the correct residence.

7:25 p.m. – Police kept the peace between neighbors at Olympia Oaks arguing over their children allegedly teasing and taunting each other.

3:38 p.m. – A bicycle was reported stolen from below the deck of a Main Street home sometime after Mother’s Day.

5:10 a.m. – A back window was smashed on a vehicle parked at Mill Valley Estates. Police are investigating.
