Startling to read how worked up our town manager got about the broken Starbucks sign (“Town to Starbucks: Fix your sign,” May 5). He even said “it can make downtown look shabby.”
I’m assuming Mr. Bockelman feels that the mutilated and unmarked pedestrian crosswalks make downtown look rather spiffy. No doubt he thinks that our roads – which make Amherst look like a third-world country – are pretty sporty as well.
Well to paraphrase his tweet as reported in the Bulletin: “Hey @Bockelman How long before you fix these broken streets all over the @TownOfAmherst? It’s been years.”
