Garden report: The yellow primrose are in bloom. I planted red, white and yellow onions, six of each as well as six snapdragon and bachelor button starts. My neighbor gave me pussy willow stalks. They grew large roots in the vase and they have now been planted. I could have my own pussy willows next spring.

Speaking of gardens, Mary Knightly and Maureen Raab were working on the planters on the Commo Saturday. Tulips are in the large planters. Thanks to the Garden Club of Amherst for making our town look good.

Science struck a nerve in town. The March for Science last week was huge in town. It took more than 20 minutes from when the first group crossed Pleasant Street at Hastings to the Earth Day Sustainability Fair on the Common until the last group crossed. I saw neighbors, friends, physicists, astronomers, biologists, children , dogs, people in costume and lots of signs. It was very impressive.
