AMHERST — Amherst Police responded to the Amherst Regional Middle School late Friday afternoon after a note with threats written on it was found inside a bathroom.
In a statement issued on Monday by Michael Morris, interim superintendent, the matter is considered closed.
“The police were contacted and, after a thorough investigation, determined the origin of note and that there was no threat to student or staff safety,” Morris said. “Student discipline is a confidential matter; therefore, no further details will be shared.”
Amherst Police referred all questions about the incident to the schools.
In December, reports of anti-Semitic incidents at the middle school prompted a schoolwide response that included assemblies and curriculum.
