SHELBURNE — A garage at a farm on Mercy Anderson Road in Shelburne was gutted by fire Monday night.

The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. Deputy Chief Jim Burnham on the Shelburne Center Fire Department said the garage was fully involved when firefighters arrived and quickly begun containing it by coating a nearby house and barn in foam and water. The garage was allowed to burn before overhaul began.

Bucky Dole, who identified himself as the owner of the garage, said it contained a truck. He said plans to rebuild.

Burnham said it’s unclear how the fire started at this time. No one was injured.

Firefighters from Colrain, Greenfield, Buckland, Shelburne Falls, Shelburne Center, South Deerfield and Greenfield, among others, responded.
