Garden report, of sorts: I had my last fresh tomato for lunch. Future tomatoes will be from the freezer and used for soup or sauce.

Reminder: It’s that time of year again to change the clocks this weekend. Sunday morning starts another season of not saving daylight time. Electronic devices make the change automatically. However, people who wear wristwatches, and some of my friends do, have to turn the dial by hand.

The Wesley Methodist Fall Fair is Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a email from Julie Miller. The event features local vendors, handmade quilts, a silent auction, baked goods, canned foods, lunch, and new this year, children’s activities.

Tuesday, Nov. 5 is Election Day. Many have voted early or sent in ballots. However for those who want to vote on Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. I will be working the morning shift at Crocker Farm Elementary School. The presidential election is very busy so chat time is limited, but a friendly hello is appreciated. Crocker Farm usually has a great bake sale.

Judith Fine of Northampton sent me an email about an event to honor the legacy of the late painter Charlie Miller. The Northampton’s November Arts Night Out Friday, Nov. 8, will include a celebration is his life from 5 to 6 p.m, and a gala from 6 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Anchor House of Artists/NEVA Museum, where Miller showed for the past decade. “All of Charlie’s works that night will be agreeably priced, as he directed,” she wrote. The New England Museum of Visionary Arttists is at 518 Pleasant St., Northampton.

I received an email one day at 1:38 p.m. saying my phone bill was overdue. At 3:26 p.m. I received an email thanking me for paying my phone bill. Is the phone company having financial trouble such that overdue notices are sent out after a week? The usual practice is a notice after being overdue a month.
