1:01 p.m. – Police took a report that someone may have tried to get into a downtown store through its back door. Officers found no evidence of any tampering with the locks.
9:40 p.m – Banjo tuning keys and a ring stored in a safe were reported stolen from a residence at The Brook, a month after Styrofoam packing material was allegedly taken from the same home. Police determined the alleged incidents didn’t happen.

12:07 p.m. – A window on a vehicle was reported smashed out while it was parked at The Notch Visitors Center parking lot. Police determined the damage was caused by debris from a Department of Conservation and Recreation mower

9:07 a.m. – A resident told police his cellphone number was compromised and various passwords to bank accounts were changed. He also notified his wireless provider about the incidents.

8:35 p.m. – Vehicles passing by the Wildwood Cemetery on Strong Street were splattered with eggs. Police were unable to locate those responsible for tossing the eggs, though empty cartons were found at the cemetery.

7:52 a.m. – Three men were observed breaking a window to gain entry to an apartment at The Boulders. Police determined they were part of a painting crew hired to work at the residence, but it was unclear why the window was damaged.

5:30 p.m. – Management at a construction company in Georgia told police about possible fraud in which money was sent to Amherst to rent a property on Lincoln Avenue. Police are investigating.

12:11 p.m. – A vehicle parked on North Whitney Street sustained minor damage when it was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle overnight, police said.

12:31 a.m. – A vehicle went off Market Hill Road near January Hills Road during a storm and got stuck in a small ditch. A tow company was called to assist the occupants, who were not injured.
9:20 p.m. – A bicyclist whose bicycle had no lights cut in front of vehicles on College Steret and nearly caused an accident. The bicyclist was issued a warning and told police he was heading home for the night.

1:33 p.m. – Management at a downtown restaurant reported someone sent suspicious messages through social media and printouts of Facebook conversations through conventional mail. Police are investigating.
1:58 p.m. – Tenants at a Nutting Avenue residence told police that a bed and plasma television set were stolen. Police determined the landlord had cleaned out the house by mistake and would return the items.
10:05 p.m. – A woman picking through trash inside an Amherst convenience store and then looking into the windows of vehicles parked nearby was identified and sent on her way.

12:41 a.m. – Southpoint Apartments residents contacted police after observing a fight outside their home. Officers found two men with boxing gloves on, and four other men nearby, who told police they were celebrating the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. They agreed to go inside for the night and to stop alarming neighbors.
2:59 a.m. – A man sleeping in a suspicious vehicle parked in a downtown parking lot was determined to be an employee arriving for a 4 a.m. shift.

9:22 a.m. – A woman reported being threatened by a man who told her he has a contract to kill her with acid rain. Police determined the threat wasn’t legitimate and advised the woman of options for mental health assistance.
9:45 a.m. – Massachusetts State Police took a call from a nursing home patient seeking a bed pan. Amherst Police will speak to the nursing home director about advising residents about the proper use of 911.

4:32 p.m. – A woman swimming at Puffer’s Pond reported she returned to her vehicle to find its rear window shattered.
