12:54 p.m. – A South Amherst woman reported someone cut a large hole in an exterior window while she was away. Police examined the hole and determined it was either made by a bird that crashed into the window or by natural stress on the window.
5:53 p.m. – Police spoke to people in a vehicle at Mill Valley Estates who may have been there to buy and sell drugs. The men in the vehicle said they were just parked there enjoying the weather.

2:28 p.m. – Police separated people arguing in front of a downtown store and sent them on their way.
4:27 p.m. – A woman suffered facial injuries after being tripped by a man while they were arguing outside the downtown bars. The woman, who was intoxicated, told police she may press charges against the man after she receives medical attention.

7:41 p.m. – Three men who tried to start a fight at a downtown bar left before police got there.

5 p.m. – A woman came to the police station with a $100 bill she found on the ground outside a downtown restaurant.

11:14 a.m. – Numerous political signs, many stating opposition to forming a charter commission, were reported stolen from Fearing and Allen streets.
5:32 p.m. – Police assisted management at the CVS Pharmacy on North Pleasant Street catch two shoplifters who took cosmetics.

6:57 p.m. – Police are investigating scratches intentionally put on a vehicle parked outside Hampshire Health & Fitness, possibly by the vehicle owner’s husband.

8:57 p.m. – Police issued a verbal warning to a New Fort River Apartments resident playing a loud guitar.

7:57 p.m. – A bicyclist struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North Pleasant Street and Butterfield Terrace went to the UMass Infirmary for treatment of her injuries, police said.
No citations were issued to the driver, and the crash remains under investigation, police said.

8:46 p.m. – The Department of Public Works was notified about glass in the middle of North East Street.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
2:16 a.m. – An industrial wood chipper was reported operating on South East Street. Police determined the machine was recharging overnight.
4:55 p.m. – Police were unable to locate a man reported screaming in the area of Bay Road and Middle Street.
6:54 p.m. – A loud explosion and the associated smoke caused a driver to swerve into oncoming traffic on Belchertown Road near the entrance to the town’s transfer station. A jogger also saw the explosion, but police were unable to find its source or any damage it caused.

9:24 p.m. – A man grabbed a woman by her neck and shoved her into a wall during an altercation at the Craig’s Place homeless shelter. They and two other guests who also participated in the disturbance were removed from the site for the night.
10:21 p.m. – Police responded to a downtown bar where a man was outside the establishment causing a scene by banging on the windows. He was sent on his way.

9:32 p.m. – Two intoxicated homeless men loitering near a back entrance to the Jones Library told police they would be heading to the Craig’s Place shelter for the night.
11:17 p.m. – Police advised a man urinating against a downtown building to find a bathroom to use.
11:44 p.m. – A Kellogg Avenue resident reported a man banging on her door for several minutes. He left before police got there.

10:33 a.m. – A man threatening passersby in front of the CVS Pharmacy on North Pleasant Street was issued a trespass notice from store management. At 2:12 p.m., management requested assistance in dealing with an increasing number of homeless people loitering inside and outside the store.

6:07 p.m. – A vehicle parked on Hallock Street sustained damage to its door when a bicyclist ran into it.

1:31 a.m. – Police warned a man trying to urinate into the Cook Memorial Fountain at Sweetser Park. He was sent on his way.
2:49 p.m. – A person called police after observing two men, dressed in camouflage and possibly carrying weapons, driving in a vehicle on Main Street. Police were unable to locate the car.
9:06 p.m. – Several people drinking alcohol and loitering in front of a downtown business were sent on their way after dumping their beverages.
11:13 p.m. – Two people in a vehicle parked on State Street near Puffer’s Pond told police they were just talking. They were sent on their way.

7:28 p.m. – Puffton Village residents making loud banging sounds agreed to move the dart board, which was the source of the noise when they threw darts at it, to a different wall.

1:09 a.m. – Police removed people getting into the trunk of a vehicle on North Pleasant Street.
9:35 a.m. – A man loitering at the Jones Library was issued a trespass notice. He left with his belongings.
5:08 p.m. – Police found a man resting against a wall at the Boltwood parking garage. He checked out OK.
11:50 p.m. – Residents at a downtown home reported a man outside looking in the windows and hiding behind bushes. He was not found by police.

11:59 p.m. – Police responded to the Cumberland Farms on Belchertown Road where a woman was allegedly struck in the head with a brick. Police found no evidence the woman, who was intoxicated, had been assaulted, but the matter is under investigation.

1:28 a.m. – A 21-year-old Fort Lee, New Jersey, man was issued a $300 ticket for violating the town’s noise bylaw after police responded to his Main Street home where loud music was playing.
1:44 a.m. and 2:07 a.m. – Police shut down loud parties at Echo Village Apartments and on Phillips Street.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
1:20 a.m. – College-age people who allegedly struck a vehicle as it was driving on McClellan Street were not located by police. The vehicle was not damaged.
9:58 a.m. – A woman called policeto report her 17-year-old daughter had passed out on a PVTA bus the previous evening after drinking a large amount of alcohol at a downtown restaurant. Police said the woman’s claims about underage serving will be investigated.
6:59 p.m. – Several men hanging out at Colonial Village and urinating between the buildings were sent on their way.
LARCENY
1:56 a.m. – Soda and other items were allegedly stolen by a man at the Cumberland Farms on Montague Road. The suspect was not located.
