The Ko Festival of Performance presents “Canary in a Gold Mine,” not Zoom Theater, but made especially for the web, according to an email from KoFest Artistic Director Sabrina Hamilton. “Canary” uses a comedic lens to explore fatherhood, marriage and environmental health, she wrote.
The production will be shown online on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. Real-time discussions with MDs, scientists, thought leaders and the creative team will follow each performance.

A friend sent a listing of the hours for daylight for the month of January. The total went from nine hours and eight minutes on Jan. 1 and will be nine hours and fifty eight minutes on Jan. 31. We gain 50 minutes this month. And as of of last week, it is two months to spring, March 21.

The above is a nice segue to the Gallery A3 exhibit, “Constellations” by Sue Katz. The opening reception is Thursday, Feb. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. The gallery is open Friday through Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m. Her exhibit is on the month of February.

The Jones Library will present a book discussion series, “Reading the Classics with Ilan Stavans,” beginning Feb. 8, according to an email from Janet Ryan, head of programming and outreach at the library.
This series is sponsored by Restless Books, the New York Public Library and the Jones Library, and will be held via Zoom on the second Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 pm.
The schedule: Feb. 8, “One Art” by Elizabeth Bishop (poem); March 8, “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe (novel); April 12, “One of These Days,” by Gabriel García Márquez (story); May 10,”Middlemarch,” by George Elliot (novel).
