With President Trump doing every legal and illegal thing he can to steal the election — his latest tactic is to trash the U.S. mail — many voters are wondering what to do.

The advice I get from organizer friends is to vote early. In Massachusetts, vote in person (for the Sept. 1 primary it’s Aug. 22-28; for the general election it’s Oct. 17-30). Or submit an absentee ballot application as soon as possible. The very day you get your ballot, fill it out and return it. Details are available from the Massachusetts secretary of state (sec.state.ma.us/.)

Reach out to relatives and friends in other states to tell them to vote early. Voting regulations are set locally. So offer to help figure out what to do in their locale.
