Great garden report: The forsythia, primrose, pulmanaria, tulip and crocus have bloomed. I don’t have a magnolia tree, but they are in bloom around town.
It’s such a joy to see all the plants in bloom. Everyday something comes up.
The indoor flower seedlings are also doing well. So far the marigolds, statice, forget-me-not, Shasta daisy, calendula, gomphrena and sweet peas.
The lettuce is getting taller. The Black Simpson iceberg lettuce has yet to germinate but the seeds are not new, so that could be a factor.

Saturday, April 17, marks the opening of the Amherst Farmers’ Market, which will be held again on the Common as last year. The market is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and runs until mid-November.
The same restrictions from last year apply — wear masks, keep socially distanced, single entry and exit. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Only service dogs are allowed. The Common is quite big, so social distancing is easy to do.
