AMHERST — A Florence native was recently hired as the part time arts and cultural coordinator for the Amherst Business Improvement District.
Peter McQuillan, of Northampton, will coordinate programming and events for the Amherst Center Cultural District and work on special projects for the Amherst BID, such as booking talent for the Downtown Beats summer concert series.
“With Peter on board, we can elevate the level of the cultural district and its impact on the downtown Amherst economy,” Amherst BID Executive Director Sarah la Cour said in a statement.
La Cour added that McQuillan brings energy, enthusiasm and passion for the arts. In fact, McQuillan has been active in the arts and cultural scene in the region, including serving as production assistant for the Northampton Arts Council, where he has assisted with events such as Transperformance and the Four Sundays in February.
