Ariana Keigan from the Pioneer Valley Workers Center and Javier Luengo-Garrrido from ACLU Massachusetts will provide insights on what bystanders can do to protect their neighbors, she wrote. Jeanne Horrigan, head of the Amherst Council on Aging, sent me an email about a program Senior Sips that will be held Thursday, March 26 from 4-6 p.m. at Protocol, the restaurant across the street from Kendrick Park. She wrote it’s a chance for those 60-plus to engage with friends and neighbors. Snacks will be provided. You buy your own beverage. Seniors now sip we don’t chug-a-lug anymore.

Kaelyn Zakaitis daughter and granddaughter of the Zakaitis clan in Amherst made the Dean’s List at Elms College with a 3.8 GPA, according to her grandfather Robert Zakaitis Sr.

Eleven downtown restaurants are on the Amherst Dessert Crawl that will be held Saturday, March 28 from 3-6 p.m. sponsored by the Business Improvement District. A scavenger hunt is also part of the afternoon.
For tickets visit the Visitor Information Center in the Chamber of Commerce office downtown. It’s a sweet way to end the week.
