AMHERST — Democratic congressmen Keith Ellison and Jim McGovern will lead a discussion, expected to address progressive politics in the era of the Trump administration, this week on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus.
Ellison, D-Minn., deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and McGovern, also a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, will spearhead the talk scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Bowker Auditorium, 100 Holdsworth Way, according to a news release.
The event is put on by Progressive Democrats of America, UMass Progressives and UMass Democrats, who will also participate in the talk.
“It is important for progressives to defend our country from Trump’s policies, while putting forward a positive progressive agenda; one that embodies our vision both for the Democratic Party and for our country,” the release reads.
There will also be a question-and-answer session for the audience following the discussion.
