The Friends of the Amherst Senior Center are holding a Pop-up Closet fundraiser Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Town Common. Items include scarves, jewelry, handbags, ties, etc.

George Naughton of the Amherst Historical Society sent me an email about the Art on the Lawn series that will be held the second Saturdays: June 10, July, 8, Sept. 9 and Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artists and crafters will be selling their wares on the lawn of the Strong House Museum on Amity Street. The museum is open at the same time so you can visit after your purchase.

My Orchard Valley neighbor Gina Kaufman will direct the Silverthorne Theater production of “The Cake” that will be held at Emily Dickinson Hall, Hampshire College.The dates are June 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and June 10, 11 and 17 at 3 p.m.

I drove by the workers installing a concrete slab by Johnnie’s Tavern. I asked when would be a convenient time for me to etch in my initials. They were not amused.

Good news: A portion of Pomeroy Lane and a portion of West Pomeroy Lane have been paved! What a difference. Denture wearers no longer have to worry about their teeth performing like castanets when driving down those streets.
